Joe's Pizza: "PILOT"

On the worst day of her life, a young woman discovers one of the universe's greatest secrets.

In my final semester at Northeastern University, I embarked on an ambitious project to serve as the Capstone to all I had learned throughout my time. Along with Hannah Wong, Marie Siopy, and Paige Stern, I worked as a producer, assistant director, co-editor, and script supervisor throughout all stages of this production. This was the most fulfilling project I have worked on, and still brings me to tears when I watch it.

TIKTOK FAMOUS.

In late 2020, still amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I interviewed a girl whose life turned upside down. After losing her senior year of high school, she turned to TikTok, raking up tens of thousands of followers while in isolation. This documentary examines the emotional effects, negative and positive, that turning to social media in this way can have.

See You Again - Miley Cyrus Music Video

Combining my two passions, the song "See You Again" by Miley Cyrus and the impeccable sport of competitive Mario Kart, this piece is focused on obsession, competitiveness, and the relationships that sometimes fall because of it. In this contemplative piece, the main character faces struggles that I know all too well. However, she will not let the blue shell of life stand in the way of her rise to the top.

Sydney Schechter Loves Making Pasta

For the first production class I took at Northeastern, I was tasked with making a video to introduce myself. I took this opportunity to take some incredible cinematic shots while simultaneously making myself a delicious dinner. Food has always been incredibly important to me and its association with home, family, and love, build the foundation of who I am. And I love pasta.

Studio Production: Specific Hospital

This was created as a part of a group for a course called Television Studio Production. The course focused on both the mechanics of how to work in a live studio and learning leadership and team skills. I directed this from the control room and called out each cue. This was filmed in only two takes with no post-production, and with the equipment provided in Northeastern's studio.

Good Things Happen in Canada (Float On by Modest Mouse music video)

This piece dates back to 2017 when I was in high school. Created with my best friend Lena, this piece is very close to my heart. It shows me how much I've grown with experience, but also the pure creativity that we had with limited equipment both in cameras and editing software.
